At a cost of £600,000, the seven-month renovation project, carried out for Clanmil by JMC Contractors, included the refurbishment of the kitchens within all of the apartments, external redecoration, access improvements, refurbishment and redecoration of communal areas and the installation of new windows and external doors.

Clare Mc Carty, Chief Executive at Clanmil Housing Association, who also joined the tenants for their celebration event, said:

"It's a pleasure to join our residents to celebrate the successful completion of this extensive refurbishment project that has delivered many improvements to their homes both inside and out. I'd like to thank our contractors, JMC, for the fantastic job they have done in rejuvenating Legion Court. We are also really grateful to our residents for their patience during the work and I hope that they will continue to enjoy life at the 'new and improved' Legion Court."

David Halliday who has lived at Legion Court for the past 11 years, is very happy with the improvements. He said:

"I'm just delighted with my refurbished kitchen and all the work that's been done. The work men couldn't have been nicer, or more helpful and Legion Court is a lovely place to live. I have a nice bright apartment and my neighbours are so friendly. I feel very much at home here."
